How to Play Carrom
Carrom is easy to learn and hard to master. Here are the Classic rules used in Timepass Carrom.
- The board: 9 white coins, 9 black coins and the red queen in the centre, four pockets in the corners and a striker.
- Shooting: place the striker on your baseline, pull back to aim and let go to flick it at the coins.
- Your colour: each side pockets only its own colour. You keep playing as long as you pocket one of your coins without a foul.
- The queen: pocket the queen, then cover it by pocketing one of your own coins on the next stroke. If you don't, the queen goes back to the centre.
- Fouls: if the striker falls into a pocket, you lose your turn and pay a due: one of your pocketed coins returns to the centre.
- Winning a board: pocket all your coins first, after the queen is covered. You score one point for each opponent coin left, plus 3 for the queen if you covered it.
- Winning the match: the first side to 25 points wins.
- Points mode: anyone may pocket any coin - white 20, black 10 and the queen 50 if covered. The highest score when the board is cleared wins.

Is Timepass Carrom free to play?
Yes. Timepass Carrom is free to download and play on Android. You can play as a guest or sign in with Google to keep your progress. There is no paid entry and no betting.
How do I play carrom with friends online?
Tap Play with Friends, then Create Room. Share the invite link or the 8-digit room code. Your friend taps the link to open the game straight in your room, or enters the code under Join Room. Rooms take 2 players, or 4 for 2 vs 2. The game starts when every seat is filled.
What happens if my friend doesn't have the app?
The invite link opens a page with a Google Play button. After installing, your friend opens the game and joins your room automatically. If the room doesn't open by itself, they can enter the room code under Play with Friends → Join Room.
What is the difference between Classic and Points mode?
Classic follows the traditional rules: each side pockets its own colour, the queen must be covered, and the winner of each board scores one point per opponent coin left plus 3 for a covered queen. First to 25 points wins. In Points mode anyone can pocket any coin: white is 20, black 10 and the queen 50 if covered.
Can I play carrom offline?
Yes. Play Offline lets you play against the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard, or Pass and Play with 2 or 4 players on one phone. Trick-shot puzzles also work offline. Online matches and rooms need internet.

Trick shots are 101 carrom puzzles: a set position and a goal, like pocketing two coins in one stroke. Earn up to three stars on each, and come back every day for a fresh Daily Puzzle to keep your streak going.
